“Love isn’t a state of perfect caring. It is an active noun like struggle. To love someone is to strive to accept that person exactly the way he or she is, right here and now.”

-Fred Rogers

Marisa’s background in education spans over 30 years. From her days teaching at the 92nd Street Y and other centers of childhood education in New York City to the last 20 years as an Artist in Residence in the Shaker Heights Public Schools, she has conceived, developed and enacted her unique storytelling curriculum for young children - supporting each classroom that she visits.

Her use of puppets gives children a safe avenue to explore their feelings. Each child’s opinion and viewpoint are respected as a conversation develops over the course of their time together. Marisa works closely with educators to thoughtfully develop ideas that will elicit classroom discussion and participation.
